Eyes and emotions – importance of pupils

Today let’s know our eyes better and check relations with our emotions.

I say eyes, but specifically talk about eye’s pupil – which is a hole located in the center of the iris of the eye (See photo).

This place is connected with our emotions.

When pupils dilate (make larger), we are excited

The size of pupil changes.

If you have a cat, check your cat’s pupils in a dark room. You might recognize the change. They dilate (make larger) in a darker room.

In case of cats, it is easier to see the change. But humans are also the same. Our pupils dilate.

Just like cats, in a darker place they dilate (make larger). This is because your eyes need to adjust the light.

But here is more interesting to mention: When we are excited, pupils dilate too. It shows excitement.

When we are interested in the story, our pupils dilate

Our pupils dilate when we are interested too.

For example, you talk with someone you like. And when his/her pupils dilate, it means the person is interested in your story.

If the person has blue eyes, it is easier to recognize than dark eyes.

In practice, it seems difficult to see the change because the pupils are very tiny after all.

However, at some point, there is a day when you suddenly see his/her pupils are very large. If you know the person well, it is easier to see the change.

Then you can know this is a good sign. The person is interested in your story.

Next time check your loved one’s pupils and see how they are.
